Travel to and within Porto

Porto is served by an international airport with flights to most European capitals, and low-cost flights to many other smaller cities (easyJet, Ryanair, WizzAir, Vueling, Transavia, etc).

It's also linked to other Portuguese cities via train. The Portoguese train operator CP mantains both regular and high-speed connections between Lisbon and Porto. The faster AP train takes just 02:40 hours to connect Porto with the capital, with hourly departures. If coming by train, you want to depart from one of three stations in Lisbon: Santa Apolónia, Entrecampos or Oriente (this latter one being close to Lisbon airport). Your destination station will be Porto Campanha, while the station of Porto Sao Bento only serves regional traffic.

Moving in porto is easy using either the metro network, the bus, or the cable car. The metro runs a line directly to the airport (the E purple line). From there, you can change at the central Trinidade station, to have access to all other lines. The yellow line D runs up to the northern university campus, where INESC-TEC is located. A convenient stop to get off is IPO, which is at a 10-minute walk from the institute.
